How much time, you ask? Well, it depends on what you want to achieve, and what you consider “enough.” If you ask me, my honest answer is: learning English is a never-ending love story. ❤️

My name is Jelena.
It’s a Slavic name meaning “bright” or “light.” You say it with /j/, as in Yelena. You can also call me Ellen.
I’m an English language teacher with a lifelong love of words, psychology, philosophy, poetry, and the unmistakable scent of old library books.
I fell in love with teaching the moment I stepped into a classroom.
Very early on, I realised that English is never the final goal. English is the bridge to dreams that once seemed out of reach. It’s the confidence to take chances. It’s the courage to achieve what felt impossible, and to grow beyond the limits you once imagined.
I’m Jelena Subić. I have a degree in English Language and Literature (University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Philosophy), I’m CELTA-certified, and have an Arizona State University certification in online course design. I’ve taught more than 1,000 students, both in person and online. Based in Novi Sad, Serbia.
